If you’re looking for a Disney Resort that combines incredible location, nostalgic charm, and plenty to do right outside your door, Disney’s BoardWalk Inn is a resort worth considering.
During my recent stay at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn in a one-bedroom villa, I experienced firsthand what makes this Deluxe Resort so popular with Disney guests. The beautiful theming, walkability to EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios, and lively BoardWalk atmosphere create a vacation experience unlike many other resorts on property.
Of course, no Disney Resort is perfect. While BoardWalk Inn offers some amazing benefits, there are also a few things to consider before booking—including the price, potential noise, and transportation options.
So, is Disney’s BoardWalk Inn the right resort for your next Walt Disney World vacation? Let’s take a closer look!
Planning tip: Disney Resort hotels can vary greatly in location, amenities, transportation, and overall experience. Before choosing your stay, explore my Disney World Resort Hotel Guide for a complete breakdown of Disney Resort categories and what each resort offers.
Overview of Disney’s BoardWalk Inn
Disney’s BoardWalk Inn is a Deluxe Resort located in the EPCOT Resort Area, offering guests a charming experience inspired by the coastal boardwalks of the early 20th century.
Guests can choose from a variety of accommodations, including:
- Standard guest rooms
- Club Level rooms
- Disney Vacation Club villas
- One-bedroom, two-bedroom, and three-bedroom villas
During my stay, I experienced a one-bedroom villa, which offered additional space and amenities that made the resort feel more like a home away from home.

Pros of Staying at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn
Location, Location, Location!
The biggest advantage of Disney’s BoardWalk Inn is the location. If you love EPCOT, this resort is hard to beat.
Guests are just a short walk from EPCOT’s International Gateway entrance, making it incredibly convenient for:
- Enjoying EPCOT festivals
- Dining around World Showcase
- Catching nighttime entertainment
- Taking an afternoon break from the parks
Disney’s Hollywood Studios is also accessible by walking path (approximately 10–15 minutes) or by boat transportation.
Plus, as an EPCOT-area resort, guests have easy access to the Disney Skyliner and nearby resorts, including Disney’s Riviera Resort, Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, and Disney’s Beach Club Resort.
For park hopping and flexibility, the location is one of BoardWalk Inn’s biggest strengths.

A Resort Filled With Nostalgic Charm
The moment you arrive at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, you feel transported to a different era.
The resort celebrates the charm of early 20th-century seaside resorts, with beautiful details, classic architecture, and a lively atmosphere that continues onto the BoardWalk itself.
One of my favorite parts of staying here was having entertainment just steps away.
Guests can enjoy:
- Street performers
- Carnival-style games
- Live entertainment
- Restaurants
- Shopping
- Nightlife
Whether you’re traveling with kid or enjoying a Disney Adult Vacation, there’s something magical about taking an evening stroll around the BoardWalk.

One-Bedroom Villa Experience
Our one-bedroom villa provided a wonderful amount of space and flexibility.
The villa included:
- Separate living and sleeping areas
- King-sized bed
- Full kitchen
- Dining area
- Additional space for relaxing
Having separate spaces was especially convenient for families or larger groups who may need room for children to nap, early bedtimes, or simply a quiet place to unwind after a busy park day.
Kitchen Amenities: A Helpful Added Bonus
One feature I appreciated about the villa was having a full kitchen.
While I don’t necessarily plan to cook every meal on a Disney vacation, having the option to prepare:
- Breakfast before heading to the parks
- Snacks
- Coffee
- Quick meals
- Food for dietary needs
can provide both convenience and potential savings.

Deluxe Resort Benefits
One of the biggest advantages of staying at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn is access to Deluxe Resort benefits.
All Disney Resort guests receive benefits including:
✔ Complimentary Disney transportation
✔ Early Theme Park Entry
✔ Advance access to dining reservations
✔ Ability to purchase Lightning Lane options before off-site guests
As a Deluxe Resort guest, BoardWalk Inn also offers additional perks, including:
✔ Extended Evening Theme Park Hours on select nights
✔ Resort recreation and activities
These benefits can add significant value depending on your vacation priorities.

Resort Recreation and Activities
One thing I love about Disney Deluxe Resorts is that the resort itself becomes part of the vacation.
At Disney’s BoardWalk Inn, guests can enjoy:
- Surrey bike rentals
- Pool activities
- Campfires
- Resort recreation
- Community Hall activities including crafts and games
These extra experiences are especially nice for rest days or afternoons when you want a break from the parks.

Things to Consider Before Booking BoardWalk Inn
The Price
The biggest drawback? The cost. Disney’s BoardWalk Inn offers an incredible experience, but it comes with a Deluxe Resort price tag.
There are other Deluxe Resorts that may cost less, so if budget is your top priority, this may not be the best fit. However, if convenience, location, and the overall experience are your priorities, BoardWalk Inn may be worth the splurge.
Potential Noise
Because BoardWalk Inn is home to nighttime entertainment, the atmosphere is lively.Guests with rooms facing the BoardWalk may experience more noise in the evenings.
During my stay, it wasn’t disruptive, but light sleepers may prefer requesting a quieter location, such as a garden or pool view. I also noticed that noise from neighboring rooms and hallways could be heard at times.
Some Areas Feel Dated
While the nostalgic theming is part of the charm, some areas of the resort and villas have felt ready for updates.
The good news? Disney has been refreshing spaces throughout the resort, bringing updated touches while maintaining the classic BoardWalk feel.

Dining and Pool Crowds
Because BoardWalk Inn is such a popular resort, dining reservations and pool areas can get busy.
Dining options are also unique compared to some other resorts because many restaurants are located directly on the BoardWalk rather than inside the resort building.
Popular options include:
- Flying Fish
- Trattoria al Forno
- BoardWalk Deli
- The Cake Bake Shop
Planning ahead is important, especially during busy travel seasons.

Transportation Considerations
The walking access to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios is fantastic. However, transportation to other areas of Walt Disney World relies primarily on buses.
During my stay, bus transportation to destinations like Magic Kingdom, Animal Kingdom, and Disney Springs could be crowded, and waits for additional buses were possible.
For guests who prioritize quick access to all four parks, this is something to consider.

Final Thoughts: Is Disney’s BoardWalk Inn Worth It?
Overall, I really enjoyed my stay at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn.
The combination of location, charm, spacious accommodations, and entertainment makes this one of Disney’s most unique resorts.
I think BoardWalk Inn is especially perfect for:
✨ EPCOT lovers
✨ Guests who enjoy resort atmosphere and entertainment
✨ Adults and couples looking for a walkable Disney experience
✨ Families who value extra space from villa accommodations
✨ Guests who want easy access to dining and nightlife
While the price, noise, and transportation limitations are worth considering, the convenience of being steps away from EPCOT and surrounded by so many experiences makes Disney’s BoardWalk Inn a memorable place to stay.
