When most people think of Walt Disney World, they picture families with young children. But here’s one of the best-kept secrets: Disney World is for adults, too!
Whether you’re celebrating an anniversary, planning a girls’ getaway, enjoying a honeymoon, or simply looking for a vacation filled with amazing food, beautiful resorts, and unforgettable experiences, Disney has so much to offer beyond the attractions.
Some of my favorite Disney memories have come from slowing down, exploring the resorts, sharing great meals, and discovering experiences many guests never even realize exist.
In this guide, I’ll share some of my favorite ways to enjoy Disney World as an adult and why you don’t need little ones in tow to have an unforgettable vacation.

Stay Somewhere You’ll Love
One of the biggest mistakes I see guests make is treating their Disney Resort like it’s just a place to sleep.
In reality, your resort can become one of the highlights of your vacation.
Each Disney Resort has its own personality, from the peaceful trails at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge to the lively atmosphere along Disney’s BoardWalk and the tropical escape of Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. Even if you never spend a full day at your hotel, taking time to enjoy the restaurants, lounges, pools, and evening entertainment can completely change the pace of your trip.

Treat Yourself to an Incredible Meal
Disney dining has come a long way from burgers and chicken nuggets.
Some of my favorite vacation memories involve lingering over dinner, enjoying a beautiful view, or discovering a restaurant that completely exceeded my expectations.
Whether you’re looking for a romantic dinner, an incredible brunch, or a fun evening with friends, there are so many options across Walt Disney World.

Some personal favorites include:
- Topolino’s Terrace
- California Grill
- Homecomin’
- Wine Bar George
- The Edison
- Flying Fish
Slow Down and Explore the Resorts
One of my favorite Disney “vacation days” doesn’t involve entering a theme park at all.
Instead, I love hopping between resorts, grabbing a coffee or cocktail, browsing the gift shops, enjoying the scenery, and soaking in the atmosphere. Every resort feels like a different destination, and you’ll discover plenty of hidden details along the way.

Whether you’re exploring the Monorail Resorts, strolling around Crescent Lake, or ending the evening at Wilderness Lodge, resort hopping is one of Disney’s most relaxing experiences.

Experience Disney After Dark
There’s something special about Disney once the sun goes down.
The parks become a little cooler, the lights come on, live music fills the air, and the resorts take on an entirely different atmosphere.
Spend an evening watching fireworks, listening to live entertainment at Disney Springs, enjoying a cocktail at Trader Sam’s Grog Grotto or Enchanted Rose, or simply taking a walk around Crescent Lake. These quieter moments often become the memories you’ll treasure most.

Don’t Skip EPCOT Festivals
If someone asked me where Disney shines for adults, EPCOT would probably be my first answer.
Throughout the year, the festivals transform the park with incredible food booths, live entertainment, gardens, artwork, and special experiences that make every visit feel different.
Whether you’re visiting during the Food & Wine Festival or admiring the gardens during Flower & Garden, it’s easy to spend an entire day exploring at your own pace.

Add One Special Experience
Sometimes it’s worth planning one unforgettable splurge.
That might be a fireworks cruise, a behind-the-scenes tour, a relaxing spa day, or even a private fishing excursion. These unique experiences often become the stories you’ll tell long after the vacation is over.
