There are two main tiers you can add to your Walt Disney World vacation package. Both include a Resort Refillable Mug for every guest.

  1. Quick-Service Dining Plan: Best for families on the move.
    • Includes 2 Quick-Service meals and 1 Snack/Nonalcoholic drink per night.
    • 2026 Price: ~$62 per Adult | $0 per Child (Ages 3–9)
  2. The Standard Disney Dining Plan: The “Classic” Disney experience.
    • Includes 1 Table-Service meal, 1 Quick-Service meal, and 1 Snack/Nonalcoholic drink per night.
    • 2026 Price: ~$99 per Adult | $0 per Child (Ages 3–9)

The “Free Kids” Math: A Real-World Example

Let’s examine a family of four. This includes 2 adults and 2 kids ages 6 and 8. They are staying for 5 nights on the Standard Dining Plan.

  • In 2025: This family would have paid roughly $1,300 for the Dining Plan.
  • In 2026: Because the kids are $0, this family pays only for the adults—roughly $990.

That is a direct savings of over $300. A single Character Breakfast for a child can cost $35 or more. Therefore, the “Value” of the kids’ portion of the plan is massive. If you have kids in that 3–9 age bracket, 2026 is the year to use the Dining Plan.

Who Should GET the Dining Plan?

  • The Character Dining Family: If you plan on doing Chef Mickey’s, Akershus, or Hollywood & Vine, the Dining Plan is a “Yes.” These meals are very costly on property. Using a credit here gives the highest ROI.

  • The “All-Inclusive” Vacationer: You can leave your wallet in the room. Don’t stress about the price of a steak or a cocktail. The DDP offers incredible peace of mind.

  • Large Families with Young Kids: The “Kids Eat Free” promo is per-child. Therefore, the more children you have in the 3–9 age range, the more you save.

    • Who Should AVOID the Dining Plan?

  • The Light Eaters: If your family prefers to share entrees, you will likely spend more on the plan. The same applies if they mostly eat appetizers. In these cases, you would spend more than you would out-of-pocket.

  • The Signature Dining Fans: Signature restaurants (like Le Cellier or California Grill) require two credits. Paying with a credit card is almost always cheaper for these meals. This avoids “wasting” two days’ worth of credits on one meal.

    • The Off-Site Travelers: The DDP is only available to guests staying at a Disney Resort hotel.

    One thing many DIY-planners miss is that several popular restaurants have changed their rules for 2026.

    • Tutto Italia (EPCOT): Only accepts the DDP for Lunch.
    • The Edison (Disney Springs): Only accepts the DDP for Dinner.
    • Via Napoli (EPCOT): Recently updated to Dinner-only for credit redemption.

    Tip: Always check your specific meal time before assuming your credits will work!
