What Is a Disney Dessert Party?
A Disney Dessert Party is a premium event that offers reserved seating (or standing areas) for nighttime spectaculars. These parties are available for Happily Ever After at Magic Kingdom. They are also available for World of Color One at California Adventure in Disneyland. Here, guests are also served a buffet of savory snacks and delicious treats.
Ultimately, these events provide guests with a stress-free way to enjoy fireworks without staking out a spot hour in advance. But is it worth the price? Let’s break it down!
Disney Dessert Party Options & Locations
Right now, Disney offers several dessert party options across its theme parks, each with unique views and treats:
- Magic Kingdom Dessert Parties – Happily Ever After: Where- Tomorrowland Terrace and/or the Plaza Garden with standing-room viewing. There are 3 options to choose from: Seats & Sweets (starting at $119/person), Pre-Party, and Post Party (starting at $99/person)
- Celebrate at the Top–Sip, Savor and Sparkle: Where: California Grill at the Contemporary Resort. Enjoy a rooftop view of Magic Kingdom fireworks (starting at $149/person) and only offered on select nights.
- World of Color Dessert Party: Enjoy premium viewing of the nighttime spectacular at Disney’s California Adventure Park. (starting at $89/person)
First and foremost, each event offers a buffet of decadent desserts. There are specialty drinks, including alcoholic options for guests 21+. The buffet also includes fresh fruit and savory snacks. So, sip and savor all while enjoying prime views of Disney’s most breathtaking nighttime entertainment.
My Personal Experience at Disney Dessert Parties
Although there have been different versions of the Disney Dessert Party over the years, Magic Kingdom’s has remained unchanged. However, always check the Disney.go.com website for up-to date experiences. I’ve attended parties at Disney’s California Adventure, Magic Kingdom and EPCOT (not available at this time). They truly enhance the fireworks experience.
The biggest perk? No need to battle the crowds for a great viewing spot. The reserved areas provide an unobstructed view. This setup is perfect for families. It suits first-time visitors. It also caters to those who want a more relaxed way to enjoy the magic.
The food selection is ok! You can expect a variety of sweets like cupcakes, brownies, chocolate-dipped strawberries, and themed desserts. Some parties even include cheese and crackers, fruit, and exclusive specialty beverages.
For adults, the addition of sparkling wine or signature cocktails makes it feel extra special! However, let’s be clear, the food isn’t going to knock your socks off. The options are at best GOOD with a bonus of some specialty cocktails if you indulge in alcohol.
Are Disney Dessert Parties Worth It?
If you love exclusive experiences, you will find value in a Disney Dessert Party. It offers stress-free fireworks viewing and indulging in delicious treats. Then YES, it is worth the splurge. Here’s why:
