Checking in at Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort feels like stepping back in time. It offers every modern convenience you want for a Universal Orlando vacation.
The check-in process was smooth and efficient, with plenty of team members available to help. Bell Services handled our luggage. We explored the vibrant lobby. The Vacation Planning Desk helped us with our park tickets. They also answered any questions.
The resort’s mid-century Americana beach hotel theme sets the tone instantly. It does so with a bright color palette, retro furniture, and surfboard-inspired décor. It feels cheerful, nostalgic, and distinctly different from any other Universal Orlando hotel.

Retro Rooms with Modern Comforts
We stayed in a standard two-queen room, which offered plenty of space for three adults. Amenities include a mini refrigerator, safe, hairdryer, extra bedding, ironing board and iron, and ample storage. The nostalgic Zest soaps and VO5 shampoos are a fun nod to classic vacation days of the past.
For larger families, the family suites are an excellent option. They sleep up to six guests and include a kitchenette with a microwave, refrigerator, and small dining area. Whether you choose a standard room or a suite, you’ll enjoy comfort and convenience at a value price point.

Standard rooms typically range from $150 to $250 per night. Prices vary depending on the season. This makes Cabana Bay one of the most affordable on-property options at Universal Orlando Resort.
Pools, Lazy River, and Relaxation
Cabana Bay Beach Resort offers two distinct pool areas, each with its own personality and perks.

The Atomic Pool features a dive-platform-style waterslide and plenty of space for families to splash and play. The Hideaway Pool offers a more relaxed atmosphere. It has a lazy river that winds through tropical landscaping. It’s a perfect place to unwind after a day at the parks.

Guests can order food and drinks directly from their loungers using a QR code. Both pool areas feature pool bars with full menus. The drinks come in refillable souvenir cups. These cups can be refilled at a discounted rate.
If you plan to float the lazy river, remember to bring your own tube. You can also buy one at the stand near the entrance.
Dining Options for Every Taste
The resort’s main dining location, Bayliner Diner, serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner in a relaxed food-court-style setting. The menu offers a wide range of options — from burgers and fries to protein bowls, sandwiches, and salads. Breakfast includes pancakes, French toast, eggs, bacon, and grab-and-go items.

Cabana Bay also offers resort refillable mugs, which can be used for unlimited refills during your stay. Guests can select from one day, two days, or multiple days when purchasing a mug. Prices start around $16 for one day and $25 for a length-of-stay option.

For your morning coffee, there’s a Starbucks conveniently located in the lobby. For a relaxing evening, the Swizzle Lounge serves specialty cocktails inspired by the resort’s retro theme.
Entertainment and Amenities
Beyond the pools and dining, Cabana Bay Beach Resort is packed with entertainment and amenities for guests of all ages.

The Galaxy Bowl is a 10-lane bowling alley. It doubles as a restaurant and bar. It’s a great place to unwind or escape rainy weather. The Jack LaLanne Physical Fitness Studio pays tribute to the legendary fitness icon with a well-equipped gym.
The resort also features a Universal gift shop and a lobby Bar. There is also a Vacation Planning Desk for guests who need assistance with park tickets or reservations.
Transportation and Park Perks
Guests at Cabana Bay Beach Resort enjoy the convenience of complimentary shuttle buses. They transport guests to Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure, and CityWalk in about 10–15 minutes. The drop-off point is near the security area at CityWalk. Cabana Bay has its own private entrance into Volcano Bay Waterpark which is just steps from the resort.

If you prefer to walk, there’s also a scenic walkway that connects Cabana Bay to CityWalk in about 15–20 minutes. For those visiting Epic Universe, transportation will drop guests off at the new main entrance in approximately 20 minutes.
One of the best perks of staying at this resort is Early Park Admission. Guests can enter one of the two original Wizarding Worlds early, depending on the day. They can also access Epic Universe early, giving you a head start before the general public.
