The Three Tiers of Universal Hotels
Universal’s on-site hotels have recently been re-categorized. Formerly, the categories included: Premier, Preferred, Prime Value and Value. Nevertheless, with the opening of three brand new hotels, including the Helios Grand- A Loews Hotel, the new categories are as follows:

- Signature
- Prime Value
- Value
Each tier comes with its own set of benefits, making it easier to match your budget and vacation style. Also, some of the hotels have been re-shuffled into different levels than before.
Signature Hotels: Luxury and Perks Galore
If you’re looking to maximize convenience and luxury, Signature Hotels are the way to go. These properties include:
- Loews Royal Pacific Resort
- Hard Rock Hotel
- Loews Portofino Bay Hotel
- Loews Sapphire Falls Hotel*
- Grand Helios- A Loews Hotel*

Perks:
- Complimentary Universal Express Unlimited Passes: Skip the regular lines at participating rides and attractions—a huge time-saver! This perk is offered only at Royal Pacific, Hard Rock Hotel and Portofino Bay.
- Early Park Admission: Get access to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at both Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios Florida plus Epic Universe an hour before the park opens.
- Proximity to the parks: These hotels are within walking distance or a short water taxi ride away.
My Thoughts: The Hard Rock Hotel tops my list because of its fun atmosphere. It is close to CityWalk, Universal Studios Florida , and Islands of Adventure. Loews Royal Pacific offers a more tranquil, tropical vibe, perfect for relaxing after a day at the parks. Loews Portofino Bay Hotel stands out for its luxurious, Italian-inspired design and the best dining options on-site.
Sapphire Falls is an excellent choice for families who want an upgraded experience without breaking the bank. The water taxi access to the parks is a big plus. Helios Grand just opened recently on April 16, 2025. It is the only hotel with direct access to a theme park (Epic Universe).

Prime Value Hotels: Budget-Friendly with Essential Perks
For travelers prioritizing affordability, Universal’s Prime Value Hotels include:
Perks:
- Early Park Admission: Get access to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at both Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios Florida plus Epic Universe an hour before the park opens.
- Complimentary Transportation to/from the parks.
- Fun, themed environments: Terra Luna and Stella Nova are uniquely themed hotels. Stella Nova offers a walking path to Epic Universe.
- Aventura’s rooftop bar offers stunning views of the parks.
My Thoughts: Aventura is more streamlined and modern. It appeals to couples or solo travelers. They are looking for a sleek experience at a lower cost. Stella Nova and Terra Luna are brand new with a full immersion of sleeping and staying among the stars.

Value Hotels: A Perfect Affordable Adventure
For guests seeking budget-friendly options, the Universal Value Hotels are ideal. They still offer some great perks of staying on property.

Perks:
- Early Park Admission: Get access to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at both Islands of Adventure and Universal Studios Florida plus Epic Universe an hour before the park opens.
- Family friendly accommodations
- Free bus transportation to the parks
My Thoughts: Cabana Bay Beach Resort is a great place. It offers spacious suites and standard rooms. The resort also has fun-filled amenities like bowling and a pool with a lazy river. The Endless Summer hotels are the most budget friendly without sacrificing quality and space.

Why Stay On-Site?
The benefits of staying on-site at Universal Orlando Resort go beyond the hotels themselves. Early Park Admission lets you beat the crowds to popular attractions at the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Complimentary transportation—via water taxis, buses, or walking paths—makes getting to the parks a breeze.

The Universal Express Unlimited Pass is an unbeatable perk for those staying at a Signature Hotel. It saves you hours of waiting in line. This amenity is HUGE in comparison to money and time you save with your stay!
