Disney’s Magic Kingdom Snacks Worth Your Money

One of the most enjoyable parts about vacation is the food, right?  Inside Magic Kingdom the vast selection of Disney food can be overwhelming.  If you have small ones, snacks are just as enticing as balloons, souvenirs, bubble wands, etc.  In this article we will explore those Magic Kingdom snacks that are worth not only the calories, but your dough!

First, for any Disney related travel plans, let me encourage you to utilize the service of a travel professional that specializes in Disney Destinations.

Let’s start with Breakfast!

Waffle Sandwiches (Sleepy Hollow)

If you need a delicious as well as filling breakfast to start your day at Magic Kingdom, head over to Sleepy Hollow.  You can find this little quick service window in Liberty Square just to the left of Cinderella Castle.  Stop on your way to Haunted Mansion for filling Disney food options!

You have your choice of two, and both are equally delightful.  First, the Fresh Fruit Waffle Sandwich is exactly as it sounds.  It’s made with a house made Belgium waffle, Nutella spread and filled with strawberries, blueberries, and bananas for $8.49.

Second, if you are looking for a savory choice, the Sweet and Spicy Chicken-Waffle Sandwich has your name written all over it.  This “sandwich” is created with the same freshly made waffle filled with perfectly marinated tangy chicken and a broccoli slaw for $11.59.

Both options are HUGE and easily sharable between two people.  Swipe your magic band and split these options amongst yourselves.

Warm Cinnamon Roll (Gaston’s Tavern)

In New Fantasyland behind the castle, there’s a little corner tavern with a sculpture of Gaston in front.  Don’t be turned off by the pompous villain of Beauty and the Beast!  It turns out, he makes a marvelously GIANT..cinnamon bun! The cost is $6.79.  This treat is easily sharable with two if not three friends and will fill that craving for warm, gooey, goodness unlike Gaston himself.

Where there is Gaston, Lefou is not far behind. In addition, LeFou’s Brew is available at this location!  This frozen apple juice drink is topped with a passion fruit mango foam.  As a bonus you can get this cooling concoction in a souvenir stein for $12.99 or choose to skip the stein and purchase the beverage for $6.29.

Midday snack anyone?

Spring rolls (The Frontierland Spring roll cart)

At the entrance to Adventureland sits a spring roll snack cart from heaven. These unique versions of spring rolls are a popular choice of savory Disney food!  They come in a set of two with dipping sauce.  The flavors do change at times. My favorite is the cheeseburger option.  Pepperoni pizza spring rolls have been on the menu as well as a Rueben inspired version.  Equally important, you can have two of the same or one of each flavor.

They are crispy, warm, and full of flavor.  They’ll hold you over until lunch as you head to ride Pirates of the Caribbean.  Despite the cost (just under $10 for 2), they are well worth it in my opinion.

Giant Mickey Pretzel (various locations)

Perhaps you’re a little hangry but you need to get to your lightning lane reservation for Big Thunder Mountain. You have a dining reservation for lunch but you need something to hold you over. Grab a giant Mickey pretzel, a staple Disney food choice, available at snack stands around the park.

I’ll be real, these are not the most amazing soft pretzels I’ve had.  However, they are decent, and they are VERY sharable.  So, it’s worth your dough to purchase and split amongst your party.  More importantly, you can eat some and store the rest away for later in your park bag.  The best part of a Mickey pretzel is that it travels well.  It goes the distance!

Afternoon Pick-Me-Up

The Cheshire Cat Tail (Cheshire Cat Café)

You’ve hit the afternoon slump and need a little something sweet to keep you rolling.  Head over to Cheshire Cat Café in Fantasyland for the Cheshire Cat Tale ($5.79).  This chocolate filled pastry is drizzled with colored icing that match that smarmy feline.  As Disney food options go, this one is just about perfect!  Despite its ingredients, it’s not SUPER sweet.  Order it with a Joffrey’s Cold Brew and you’ll be back zipping around the park in no time.

In addition, if you really need a sugar high, you can purchase the “All Mixed Up Slushy” at the same location instead.  It’s a mixed berry tea with whipped cream and sprinkles for $5.99. It’s cooling and fun for little ones (or big ones) who need a treat in the middle of the day.

Heigh-Ho Sundae (Storybook Treats)

All the chocolate lovers raise their hands!  The Heigh-Ho Sundae from Storybook Treats in Fantasyland includes chocolate soft serve, chocolate candy rocks, graham cracker pieces, whipped cream, and hot fudge.

Wow!

Not to mention it’s a big dish!  That means grab a friend and dive into this Magic Kingdom snack for $7.79.

However, if you are looking for a single serve situation, order the soft serve cone of the day.  The theme at Storybook Treats is Snow White and The Seven Dwarves. Any one of the characters will be the themed cone of the day with flavors to match.  Truthfully, this is some of the best soft serve ice cream around property.

The Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bar (various locations)

If you want simple, delicious, and iconic, you want to try the Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bar.  You can purchase this staple Magic Kingdom snack at most ice cream carts and some quick service locations around the park.

What makes it good?  It is rich, thick, chocolate coated vanilla ice cream.  It is genuinely perfect for what it is.  In fact, I purchase a box at my local grocery store when I’m not there because I haven’t found an ice cream treat that compares from any other name brand.

Dole Whip (Sunshine Tree Terrace, Aloha Isle)

I would be remiss when discussing Magic Kingdom snacks to not mention Dole Whip.  You have to try this treat on your visit if you want something synonymous with Disney’s Magic Kingdom!  This frozen iconic snack is sold in different variation at two locations in Adventureland.

First, at Aloha Isle pick up a cup of Dole Whip. Available flavors vary and include traditional pineapple, coconut, raspberry, and more. This quick service location is next door to the infamous Enchanted Tiki Room. Purchase your favorite flavor of Dole Whip and enjoy a show next door.

Meanwhile, Sunshine Tree Terrace offers cups of Dole Whip often swirled with soft serve flavors. There are also specialty floats available here.  This location is across from the Swiss Family Robinson Tree House and mobile order is an option!

While the flavors of Dole Whip switch out from time to time, the traditional pineapple Dole Whip is generally always an option.  Hot days are made better with Dole Whip!
