Stella Nova Resort

Universal’s New Terra Luna and Stella Nova Resorts – Our Honest Review

If you’re planning a Universal Orlando vacation in 2025, remember these two new names. They are Terra Luna Resort and Stella Nova Resort. These Prime Value hotels opened earlier this year. They are just across the street from Epic Universe, Universal Orlando’s newest and most highly anticipated theme park.

Both resorts are designed to meet the needs of budget-conscious travelers, young families, and theme park lovers. They offer modern accommodations and key amenities. The proximity to the newest park experience is unbeatable.

Resort Overview: Affordable Comfort Near Epic Universe

Each resort features 760 standard guest rooms with a choice of two queen beds or one king bed. You won’t find family suites or club-level upgrades here. However, you will find clean and spacious rooms. The rooms have comfortable beds and a modern, functional layout.

The theming at both Terra Luna and Stella Nova is tasteful and modern. It is not particularly immersive. And that’s okay. Most guests, ourselves included, aren’t choosing these properties for elaborate design. We’re here for location, value, and comfort, and these resorts deliver.

Dining & Amenities

Both Terra Luna and Stella Nova have a range of practical amenities including:

The pool at Terra Luna
Both Terra Luna and Stella Nova have a resort-style pool. There is plenty of seating available. They also offer a pool bar and grill. photo: @bizzy.runninganddizn
  • A large resort-style pool with a pool bar and quick-service food
    • Moonrise Bar and Moonrise Market at Terra Luna
    • Galaxy Bar and Galaxy Grill at Stella Nova
  • A Universal Studios Store
  • A lobby café and market for coffee, snacks, and on-the-go meals
  • A fitness center, arcade, vacation planning desk, and bell services
  • A lobby bar to relax after a park day
Cafe and Market at Terra Luna

We found the food to be good, with small plates, sandwiches, and light fare available at the pool and market. It wasn’t gourmet or standout, but it did the job — especially after a long day at the parks.

Location: Epic Universe Access and Transportation

The biggest draw here is clear — proximity to Epic Universe. Stella Nova in particular excels in this category. It offers a direct walking path to the new park. The walk took us 10–15 minutes depending on our pace. That easy access alone could justify its slightly higher nightly rate compared to Terra Luna.

Universal Bus
Both Terra Luna and Stella Nova offer bus transportation to the the Universal theme parks. photo: @bizzy.runninganddizn

As for transportation, both resorts offer bus service to Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure, CityWalk, and Volcano Bay. Be aware that the bus ride took about 20 minutes. A long traffic light just outside the resort area accounted for much of that time. There is no water taxi or walking path to those parks from Terra Luna or Stella Nova.

Pricing: Budget-Friendly with Peak Date Caution

  • Terra Luna pricing starts at $170 per night during off-peak dates
  • Rates can climb to $230 per night during holidays and school vacations
  • Stella Nova is slightly higher due to its walking path to Epic Universe

For guests who want to be close to the action without breaking the bank, these resorts offer a solid value. If your goal is easy access to Epic Universe, both properties hit the mark. They also provide a comfortable place to rest your head.

Final Thoughts: Would I Stay Again?

Yes — I was comfortable at both resorts. If I were planning a trip focused on Epic Universe, I would absolutely stay again. The team members were friendly, the resorts were well-kept, and the location was convenient.

Helios Grand Hotel

If you’re looking for a more upscale vacation vibe, I recommend booking one of Universal’s Signature Hotels. You’ll have closer access to Universal’s other theme parks. Also, enjoy complimentary Universal Express Unlimited passes. Consider the new Helios Grand, which offers luxury and convenience in one.
