Universal Orlando’s newest theme park, Epic Universe, opened on May 22, 2025. It’s already one of the most talked-about attractions in Orlando. The park features five immersive lands and 11 rides. There are also character experiences and shows. Most visitors will want more than a single day to explore. However, if your ticket is for one day only, this guide will help you maximize your visit.
We’ve been tracking wait times, park hours, and guest strategies since opening. After experiencing the park ourselves, we’ve put together the most efficient plan. This plan will help you do everything Epic Universe has to offer in just one day.
Start with Early Park Entry
The best way to maximize your day at Epic Universe is to stay at a Universal Orlando hotel. Guests receive early park entry one hour before official opening. While not every land is available during this time, getting in line early makes all the difference.

Recently, the park has been opening at 10 a.m., which means hotel guests should plan to be at the gates by 8:30 a.m. Gates often open a little before 9 a.m. for early entry.

The top priority attraction is Battle at the Ministry. It is located in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic. Even though it’s not officially included in early entry, guests are often allowed to line up before opening. This ride regularly sees wait times of 2–3 hours later in the day. By heading here first, you’ll be among the first riders when the attraction opens. This gives you a major advantage for the rest of your day.
Morning in the Isle of Berk
After riding Battle at the Ministry, head straight to How to Train Your Dragon- Isle of Berk. Many visitors go to Super Nintendo World first, but waiting until later in the day is a better strategy.

Two experiences in Berk draw consistent crowds:
- Hiccup’s Winged Gliders, a family-friendly coaster
- Toothless Meet and Greet, a must-see character experience
- Dragon Racers Rally, a high in the sky soar on the back of a dragon
Prioritize Hiccup’s Winged Gliders first, as lines build quickly. Afterward, meet Toothless before grabbing an early lunch at Hooligan’s Grog & Gruel or Spitfire Grill.
Dark Universe Before Lunch
Next, head into Dark Universe, home to Universal’s classic monsters. Start with Curse of the Werewolf, a fast-paced spinning coaster that tends to build longer waits in the afternoon.

Then, experience Monsters Unchained, an impressive dark ride with an equally impressive queue. Don’t skip the main line for single rider—the immersive details are part of the attraction’s magic.
Midday Show Break
Once you’ve tackled several high-demand rides, it’s a good time to take a break. Return to the Ministry of Magic for Le Cirque Arcanus, a live show filled with detail and theming. This is a perfect chance to rest, enjoy the performance, and take in the atmosphere of the Wizarding World.
Super Nintendo World in the Afternoon
The afternoon is the best time to explore Super Nintendo World, while most of the morning rush has already passed. Three attractions anchor this land:
- Mine Cart Madness in Donkey Kong Country (no Express Pass available; long waits are common)
- Mario Kart: Bowser’s Challenge, which usually has shorter waits later in the day
- Yoshi’s Adventure, a family-friendly ride great for all ages

Mine Cart Madness may be your longest wait of the day, but it’s worth it. Keep in mind that single rider lines sometimes close if the wait is too long.
Evening Back at Berk
In the evening, return to the Isle of Berk for the incredible Untrainable Dragon show. It brings the world of Hiccup and Toothless to life. Afterward, consider riding Fyre Drill, a kid-friendly water battle attraction. Be prepared to get wet.
End the Day in Celestial Park
End your day in the heart of Epic Universe, Celestial Park. This land transforms at night, glowing with light and sound. Don’t miss:
- Constellation Carousel, a stunning, artistic ride
- Stardust Racers, a thrilling duel coaster racing across the stars

Finally, find a spot in front of the Helios Grand hotel for the nighttime grand finale show. Featuring music, a synchronized light show, and fountains, it has already become a fan favorite among Orlando’s nighttime shows.
