When you think about staying at Disney World, what do you picture? You might imagine lots of color and characters. Perhaps you think about rooms fit for royalty. Disney World resorts offer three levels of accommodations for guests. The first level is “value”. It is the least expensive level and offers the least number of amenities.
However, Disney World Value Resorts are a blessing when you consider the cost vs benefit factor. Here’s a look at why you should consider a value resort on your next trip.
First, for any Disney related travel plans, let me encourage you to utilize the service of a travel professional that specializes in Disney Destinations.
Why Stay at a Disney Value Resort?
Among the many reasons to consider a value resort is the price! The price is at the top of the list of reasons. Additionally, location and theming make up the majority of why you want to stay at a value resort at Disney World. If you need a place to sleep and easy access to theme parks, a value resort will check all boxes for you without the added expense. Lastly, kids and adults alike can’t help but be in awe of the super-size theming at these resorts.
The Difference in Price at a Disney World Value Resort
Obviously! You won’t find a cheaper option on Walt Disney World Property. The average cost of a Disney World vacation can run up into the thousands of dollars. Choosing to stay at a value resort can reduce your cost drastically. The average price for a standard room with 2 queen beds is $180/night. I’ve seen them lower depending on when you visit and what discounts can be applied. Keep in mind, you will pay slightly higher for the resorts with Skyliner access.
Generally, value resort rooms sleep 4 people. However, at both Art of Animation and All-Star Music Resort, family suites are available. These suites can sleep up to 6 people. More about that below.
Despite the lower price, the perks remain the same. You still get complimentary transportation to and from the theme parks and Disney Springs. Dining includes a food court with a variety of options including burgers, pizza, and chicken nuggets. Large pool areas, an arcade and more fun round out the vacation vibe at the value resorts!
The Location of Disney World Value Resorts is an Advantage
The Skyliner station at Disney’s Art of Animation and Pop Century resorts provides direct access to both Epcot and Hollywood Studios. PERFECT ! You also have access to other resorts on the Skyliner route. That means it’s a quick trip to great dining and the theme parks.
The location of these 2 value resorts puts you squarely amid a lot of great amenities. The Skyliner itself feels like an attraction. Soar through the air on a quiet gondola ride!
While the lines for the Skyliner can be long at peak times, loading and unloading moves quickly. Most of the time it’s faster than bus transportation. The Disney transportation options are limited to bus at the All-Star value resorts not on the Skyliner. However, buses run frequently, the travel time is generally around 20 minutes.
Your Priority is visiting the theme parks
You’ll find the rooms at the value resorts are adequate but may not be “comfortable” if you have a larger group. The rooms average approximately 260sq ft (not including the family suites). These are basic garden style motel rooms with 2 queen beds (or 1 King bed) and 1 bathroom.
That being said, if you don’t plan to spend a great deal of time there, the pricing for this resort category is right for you!
As mentioned, most value rooms sleep 4 people but the family suites at both Art of Animation and All-Star Music Resort can accommodate up to 6 people. However, more than 2 adults to a room at any value resort may make it feel more cramped. It also may cost you more money. Disney can charge fees if the number of adult guests per value resort room exceeds 2.
You enjoy the fun theming at the Disney World Value Resorts
The theming at these resorts is BIG, bold, and present in every aspect of the value resorts reach. Children and kids at heart will appreciate the larger-than-life characters of Art of Animation and Pop Century.
At the same time, the All-Star Resorts will impress you with the brightest colors and bold theming of Disney films, sports, and music.
These garden style resorts take theming to a level that is only rivaled by the theme parks. The effect is: “Wow! I am at Disney World” even while at these resorts. It’s an extension of that magical feeling.
Disney Value Resorts have the BEST price tag, no question. Their bold theming extends the Disney “feeling” beyond the theme parks and the addition of the Skyliner has put 2 value resorts in prime location. Staying at Disney World shouldn’t break your budget, but you still want to get the most out of your money. Value resort choices provide that option!
In addition to Value Resorts, Disney World has moderate level and deluxe level accommodations including studios and villas. There’s a lot to be said for each choice.
