Disney has just announced a new addition to its skip-the-line services- the Lightning Lane Premier Pass. The latest option to Lightning Lane reservations is available in Disneyland starting October 23, 2024. In Disney World, the option opens to select guests as of October 30,2024.

This purchase allows guests to bypass the regular lines one time without the need for prior reservations.
What We Know

It offers more flexibility compared to Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass. Guests can simply walk up to a ride and enter the Lightning Lane without booking a time.
Disney World
Still, this convenience comes at a steep cost. At Walt Disney World, Premier Pass is set to range from $129 to $449 per person. Ultimately, pricing will depend on the date and park of your choice.
Also, Premier Pass can only be purchased for one park a day. It also only includes one lightning lane use per attraction. Additionally, at Disney World it is only available to guests staying at Disney deluxe resorts, deluxe villas. However, Disney Swan and Dolphin as well as Shades of Green are included. Value Resort guests, Moderate Resort guests and those staying off property are not eligible for the Premier Pass.
The purchase of Premier Pass starts 7am EST, 7 days before they check-in. It will include the length of their stay up to 14 days. This is done directly in the Disney World Park app.
Disneyland
At Disneyland in California, the pass will be priced at $300 to $400 per person. The first weeks start at $400. This is during the busy Halloween and holiday season.
Unlike at Disney World, the Disneyland Premier Pass while still limited in number is open for purchase to all park guests with valid tickets and reservations. It also includes both parks in one day. Similarly, guests at Disneyland can pay to skip the lines through their park app starting 7am PT, 2 days before their park visit.
The Debate
This new offering provides a luxury experience for those who prefer minimizing wait times. But! it has sparked a lot debate over its premium pricing! Still, Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Lightning Lane Single Pass are options for guests unable or unwilling to pay the high price of this new choice.
Along with skip-the-line privileges, the purchase of Premier Pass includes free digital photo downloads. In other words, Memory Maker is included when you pay for Lightning Lane Premier Pass.
So, what do you think? Would you pay the high price tag to skip the line at participating attractions during your day in the park? Does the cost justify the perk? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments.
